DAR asked:

“For those of you with an opinion on the Trans Texas Corridor, you might want to head down to Austin Texas on April 5 to make your voice heard. Here’s the notification of a rally (anti-toll) that anyone on either side of the toll-road debate might want to join.

AUSTIN,TX –Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom (TURF) is organizing a march down Congress Avenue and rally on the South Capitol steps Saturday, April 5. Invited speakers include: Congressman Ron Paul (R – TX), Congressman Virgil Goode (R – VA), Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D – OH), and Oklahoma Senator Randy Brogdon (all of whom have introduced and/or passed bills or resolutions to stop funding the Trans Texas Corridor), along with many Texas State Legislators and local leaders who are leading the fight against the TTC and tolls across Texas and AMERICA!

CNN’s Lou Dobbs couldn’t believe Texans would allow Rick Perry and the Texas Legislature to steal our land and allow the TTC to be built. “What happened to ’Don’t Mess With Texas?’” (See it here) Texans through TURF plan to show Lou Dobbs and the WORLD: Don’t mess with Texas TURF!

Looks like they are well into trying to get partial funding (most from some Chinese companies) and are building fast food and stations on the tollway so it will by pass the small businesses in towns as well as make the Mexico port trucked to Canada market plan a reality.

Amazing they keep saying this doesn’t exist when the foot print of land they want for eminent domain is several football field’s wide.

Is anyone going to this rally?
Bernake, it would build infrastructure to avoid US ports and expensive US port security (like the billions in radiation detectors) and would have Mexican truckers at lower labor rates taking goods from new Mexican trucks on China financed toll roads with captive fast food (no benefit to local towns from traffic) to Canada, via Kansas City. A lot of US jobs lost form ports to trucking to highway roadside services….
sorry above it should have been ‘new Mexico ports’ they just opened a huge one in Baja and are opening another huge one idea is Chinese goods could go there for cheaper labor cost and cheaper overall trucking and delivery cost - but we are cut out.
Bernake, you didn’t notice that part about captive restaurants and speedlane toll roads? The money goes to Chinese toll funding and the few restaurants on the oasis on the toll way - not in towns there now. This is not trade. This is jobs from trade we already have going to others.
